Week seven,
We missed our flight to Xian. We flew in a few hours after day break. We had aranged pick up to the terra cotta warriors. In pit one was the most interesting 800 soldiers all made of terra cotta, all diferent down to the shoe laces, all standing in ready stance. we got to the hotel and went to the Muslim quarter and ate street food. Next today we took tuk tuks to the train station. We got on a two day one night train to LHASA. We had our own cabin. That night we watched The Lord Of The Rings. Next day we got to LHASA at six o'clock pm. We got our guide and went to the hotel. Next day we changed hotels because nobody in our tour liked it. We went to serra monasery to here the monks yelling at each other. On the next day,we went to Potala Palace home of the Dalai Lama. We walked thru the bed room and the temples. We walked thru the council halls. Next day we by bus and left LHASA by bus traveling nine hours to SHIGATSE. We stayed at a very nice hotel. Next day we got back in the car and traveled nine hours to Eveverest base camp we slept over night in the mountains shadow. next day we went to where the climbers sleep. We traveled seven hours to the border of tibet. Next day we crossed it.
Week eight,
We hageled with a taxi driver in Nepal. We finally got going. We almost got stoped till six o'clock at a gate to a town because of the protests. a nother tour van rescued us. When we did get to the capital we realized that a strike prevented us from going on a trek. We all crashed at a three hundred dollar hotel Radisson. We ate at a expensive olive garden in the hotel. Next day we went to the India Embasy. We got tickets to delhi that day to. There is not much to tell about the next few days. Strike, Everything closed, Hotel, Police, Heat, pool and walking. I'm not saying it was not fun it was very fun hanging out at a posh resort. One day, the strike ended and we went to a famous yet skanky hotel. We were there for four days. We still did not do that much. One day we went to a shoping place. Once to a monkey temple. a temple tour and on the last day mom and dad went to Pushpatanath temple. We went to a crazy about security airport and then to a air plane to Delhi.
